Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are investigating another cellphone store theft, this time in Newhall, officials said Wednesday.

A burglary at the Metro PCS store Main Street was reported Wednesday morning, but deputies believe the theft took place Tuesday evening or in the early morning hours, officials said.

The thieves smashed in the store’s windows and cleared out nearly all of the store’s merchandise, according to witnesses.

Deputies did not have any information available regarding a suspect description at this time, but the investigation is still in its preliminary phases.

This is at least the third such theft from a cellphone store in the last month or so.

The first two involved armed-takeover robberies.

No one was hurt in any of the incidents, but tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise has been stolen.
