Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives are investigating a pair of vehicle break-ins last month in front of a home on the 28000 block of Park Woodland Place. The homeowner is hoping security video can help lead to an arrest.

Lenin Sanchez, 46, of Saugus, shared the video with KHTS AM-1220 in hopes of warning his neighbors, as well as hoping someone might recognize the vehicle.
The video shows two thieves driving up in a BMW, getting out and looking inside Sanchez and his wife’s vehicles, then driving off; about 30 minutes later, a female driver and a male passenger return, smash a window in each of the Sanchezes’ cars, steal items and then drive away.
“They came the first time at 5:30 a.m., then they came back at 5:55 a.m. and (broke into the cars) at 5:55 a.m.,” Sanchez said.

Deputies took fingerprints and are investigating the case, which, at the moment, appears to have been an “isolated incident,” in the sense that there were no other break-ins reported in the area around that time, officials said.
The theft included a bag of expensive camera gear that was left out on the seat of his car. Sanchez would have usually brought the equipment inside, he said, but he didn’t get home until late due to his son’s soccer tournament, which he was filming, and forgot the equipment in the car.
The thieves also made off with money and personal documents, Sanchez said. He wanted to make sure others were warned to keep an eye out and secure their belongings.
“I’ve been reading the news and (the break-ins) have been happening a lot lately in Santa Clarita,” he said. “And I especially want to stop it from happening to anyone else.”
Deputies offered a frequent caution, which they said was especially relevant during the summer months when residents are often on vacation.
“The standard line about don’t leave valuables in your vehicle overnight and lock your doors goes a long way,” said Sgt. Maurizi, detective with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
If someone is concerned about their home while on vacation, they can request a patrol check through the city’s website, which authorizes deputies to make sure no one is home at a property while the owner is away.

You left expensive crap in plain view for a theif to steal. Who is the dummy here?????
Sad days. But remember Jerry Brown and the legislative geniuses made burglary a misdemeanor if it’s less then $950.00. Guess they haven’t had crooks steal their hard earned property. These are the non violent offenders pillaging hard working Americans.
