Detectives Seeking Information On Valencia Christmas Decoration Theft (VIDEO)

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying one of two theft suspects caught on camera stealing Christmas decorations from a yard in a Valencia neighborhood.

At around midnight on Friday, Dec. 6, deputies received a report of a theft on the 27900 block of Skycrest Circle, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“A snowman decoration was stolen from a homeowner’s yard,” Miller wrote in an official post Wednesday.

Footage of the crime was captured on a neighbor’s security camera, which reportedly shows an SUV pull up in front of the victim’s home, according to Miller.

“The driver, a male adult, exits the vehicle, and when he returns, he is holding the Christmas decoration in his arm,” Miller wrote. “He placed the decoration in the backseat of the vehicle and drove off. “

Several minutes later, another homeowner on the same street reported that her “Elf on the Shelf” lawn ornament had been stolen from her front yard.

“She reported seeing two males running towards the street,” Miller wrote. “One of the males was dragging her inflatable Christmas decoration. The two males got into an SUV and drove out of view.”

Officials are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the man caught on video.

“If you have any information that may lead to the identification of the suspect(s), please call Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at 661-255-1121, ext. 5146,” Miller wrote.
