Drug and alcohol-related crimes once again led the weekend crime reports in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Between Friday, July 21, and Sunday, July 23, 14 people were arrested for various crimes due to the efforts of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

Of those 14 arrests, 12 were drug- and/or alcohol-related crimes, such as possession of a controlled substance or driving under the influence (DUI).

A total of 12 misdemeanors and two felony arrests were recorded, including an attempted robbery and a felony assault charge.

A majority of the people arrested, 10, had addresses outside the Santa Clarita Valley.
