Through a collaboration with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and California Highway Patrol Newhall Office, 17 people were arrested, with more than half being for drug and alcohol-related offenses.
Throughout the weekend, seven individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs, including an underage male from Palmdale.
Then, two people in jail were caught in possession of a controlled substance.
Other than drugs and alcohol, the second most common reason for arrests was domestic violence. Of those arrested for domestic violence, two were male and two were female. The youngest of the bunch was an 18-year-old male from Canyon Country.
Additional arrests include attempted burglary, disobeying a court-ordered restraining order and having a loaded firearm in public.
