Drug-related arrests dominated the Santa Clarita weekend arrest logs for over a month, with 16 arrests this past weekend.

Between the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the California Highway Patrol Newhall Office, 21 arrests were made over the weekend 

Of the 16 drug-related arrests, 10 were for DUIs, and two were for possession of drugs/alcohol in jail.

The other drug-related arrests were for possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a controlled substance, under the influence of alcohol and another for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Some of the other arrests were for grand theft, threatening to cause harm, driving with a suspended license and injury to a spouse.

Of the 21 arrests nine were made by the California Highway Patrol, and 12 by the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station.
