A father was arrested on several felonies after his 7-year-old daughter was ejected from his vehicle in a Canyon Country crash last week.
Around 5:30 p.m. March 31, deputies responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision involving a black Kia Forte near Sierra Highway and Linda Vista Street in Canyon Country, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The suspect’s 7-year-old daughter was a passenger in the vehicle and was reportedly ejected during the crash,” Miller said.
His 7-year-old daughter and her mom were both flown to Northridge hospital for medical treatment, according to officials.
During the investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had a BAC of over twice the legal limit of .08 percent.
Darrin Neeley, 31, from Hemet, was arrested for DUI and child endangerment, both felonies, Miller said.
Neeley was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains in custody with bail set at $75,000, Miller said.

I don’t know how a father can put his children in jeopardy while driving drunk. I hope the little girl will be ok.
How is the girl? Did she live? What is her condition?
