Drunk driving and drug-related crimes once again dominated Santa Clarita weekend arrest records ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.
Between the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, 28 arrests were recorded in the Santa Clarita Valley.
This total is eight higher than the previous weekend, which recorded 20 arrests.
Technically, there were 30 arrests reported over the weekend, however, one is a duplicate charge for the same individual and another is dated from March 1.
Of these Santa Clarita Valley weekend arrests, eight were for felonies, and 22 were misdemeanors.
Many of the misdemeanors were for drug- and alcohol-related crimes, including possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
Of the people arrested over the weekend, 13 reported addresses outside of the Santa Clarita Valley.
