Felony arrests made up only one-quarter of bookings this weekend compared to a third of arrests last weekend.
Four of the 17 arrests made by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office between Friday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 11 were for felony offenses.
Two of the felony arrests were for assault. The other two were for burglary and grand theft of money or property valued at $400 or more.
Once again, DUIs dominated weekend arrests, with seven individuals booked for misdemeanor offenses.
Four additional arrests were made on drug-related charges. Three were for possession, and one was for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Of the 17 arrested, 11 live at addresses in the Santa Clarita Valley.
