Felony DUI Suspect Arrested After Fleeing From 14 Freeway Crash

An alleged drunk driver was arrested for felony DUI after fleeing from a 14 Freeway crash early Friday morning, with their passenger reportedly “extremely combative” to law enforcement, officials said.

Around 12:26 a.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol officials received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 14 Freeway near Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country, according to Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol.

One of the three vehicles involved in the crash, a black pickup truck, reportedly fled from the scene, according to Greengard.

The pickup truck was later found on Sierra Highway near Placerita Canyon Road, Greengard said.

Klicnar Hernan Guevaradiaz, 20, was arrested on a felony charge of driving under the influence, causing injury. Guevaradiaz is being held on a $50,000 bail, according to arrest records.

At least one of the passengers in the other vehicles involved were injured in the crash, according to Greengard, with their condition unknown as of Monday.

“The passenger became extremely combative upon contacting him, and he was also arrested,” Greengard said.

Kevin Isaac Diazjimenez, 22, was arrested on a felony charge of resisting an executive officer, and is being held on a $25,000 bail, according to records.

  1. Why didn’t you shoot this guy dead? In two years, he will kill your wife, daughter, or son. Can we extend DUI’s to 50 years in prison?
