A high-speed pursuit sped up the northbound I-5 Freeway Friday night after starting in Ventura County earlier in the evening.
At around 7:17 p.m. Friday, officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) initiated a pursuit on a possible stolen vehicle out of Santa Monica after officials with the Los Angeles Police Department requested assistance, according to an official with CHP Traffic Management Office (TMC).
After reaching speeds of over 100 mph on the eastbound 118 Freeway, the driver proceeded to transfer from the northbound 405 Freeway to the northbound I-5 Freeway, briefly heading westbound on 210 Freeway before turning around and returning to the 5 Freeway.
Following a brief detour onto Lyons Avenue, the suspect returned to the northbound 5 Freeway before exiting at Parker Road in Castaic, where they were stopped and detained shortly after, according to CHP TMC.
No injuries were reported in connection to the pursuit.
