Homeless Woman Arrested For Being In Possession Of Baton, Outstanding Warrants

Deputies arrested a homeless woman Thursday on multiple arrest warrants and for illegally being in possession of a baton, according to officials.

On Thursday, deputies made contact with a suspect while conducting patrol checks in a Canyon Country shopping center parking lot on the 19350 block of Soledad Canyon Road and discovered she was in violation of multiple offenses, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for identity theft,” Miller said.

Deputies also found a metal baton and pepper spray in the suspect’s vehicle, according to officials.

“The suspect had multiple prior criminal convictions,” Miller said.

Alexandra Moritz, 30, a Winnetka transient, was charged with the warrants and a felony for being in possession of a baton and a misdemeanor for an addict in possession of pepper spray, Miller said.

Moritz was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, with bail set at $30,000, according to arrest records.

  2. You see junkie i see possible violations of rights. I like being safe i just dont want our law enforcememt overstepping there bounds. Most people will allow law enforcemebt to bend a few rules to for therr saftey but its a slippery slope. Yes im an accountability advocate. She had warrants ok but did she commit a crime to initiate contact. How would you feel if you were hand cuffed embarassed. Rights violated for your appearance. About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
