Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received the call about a dead male adult in the interior of a car on Golden Valley Road, near Robert C. Lee Parkway around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, officials said.

A Santa Clarita Valley deputy on routine patrol noticed a Honda Accord parked illegally on the shoulder on Golden Valley Road, said Lt. Steve Jauch of the Homicide Bureau.

“Doing an inventory search of the car, prior to having it towed, he found a male adult deceased in the interior of the car,” Jauch said.

The deputy had stopped to investigate, and was preparing to tow the car because it had been parked there for some time, and he had seen it there earlier, Jauch said.

The car will be towed and taken to the Coroner’s office where Sheriff’s crime lab personnel are going to process the car as well as the victim, according to Jauch.

The cause of death is not known at this time. No suspects are in custody.

No other information is available at this time. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
