Inmate Allegedly Tries To Grab Deputy’s Gun During Fight At Henry Mayo Hospital

An inmate at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital allegedly got into a fight with a deputy and attempted to grab the deputy’s gun, according to initial reports.

The incident happened at the Valencia hospital, where the inmate was receiving treatment for reasons that are unknown .

The inmate allegedly tried to grab a deputy’s gun and start a fight, according to preliminary information.

When KHTS Radio reached out to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station for comment, the watch commander said it was not one of their deputies and it might have been an inmate at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic.

Authorities said the deputy was able to keep control of both of his guns during the altercation.

The inmate was eventually taken back into custody.

  1. You put in a valencia hospital …. There is only one hospital out there

  2. This article makes zero sense.

Also, yes, arrested people do go to Henry Mayo. They are put into rooms with non-criminals. Experienced this with our family member in May. Not good.
