LASD Search For Alleged Narcotics Suspect Leads To Stevenson Ranch Containment

A Stevenson Ranch containment was set up Saturday afternoon after Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputies followed an alleged narcotics suspect into a neighborhood.

Just after 4 p.m., deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station followed a felony suspect to a neighborhood behind the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Stevenson Ranch, leading to a containment, according to James Nagao with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Information Bureau.

“When the deputy attempted to detain the suspect, he fled,” Nagao said.

The suspect allegedly ran across all lanes of the I-5 freeway after originally being approached by law enforcement on the east side of the freeway in Newhall, according to officials.

The containment blocked off part of the neighborhood accessible via Sagecest Court, off of The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch.

A Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department helicopter assisted with the search from the air when the suspect ran south into an open field, according to Nagao.

The suspect has not been apprehended as of 5:55 p.m. Saturday.

  1. Probably ran into the field and brush behind Sunset Pointe.
Hopefully, he met a rattlesnake, and the rattlesnake won!

By the way, when you’re out with your pups on the trails, or your backyard/hillside/slope, watch out – the rattlers are slithering around, and unfortunately, Santa Clarita dog bites have increased greatly over the past two weeks.

Too bad the rattlers can’t bite a few of the local perps and drug pushers.

  2. HaHa, so true, the sheriff’s need all the help they can get! From rattlesnakes to citizens with wide open, accurate eyes observing the facts/truths of who’s causing all the crimes and what pockets the bad guys/gals live in!!

  3. 0 bail so why waste the tax dollars on looking.. this state is a joke thanks to all who voted to keep them living in your neighbor hoods and feed the drugs to your children..

    • You can thank the Liberals for that type of excusing/condoning horrible behavior! Drive by motel 8 on Sierra Hwy. North of Soledad— They’re sitting around smoking, of course, and who knows what else! A liquor store across the street & 5 more at Soledad as well as several child care centers!! Oh, wonderful Liberals promoting degeneration! Now they’re using the Wuhan, China virus to excuse their plans of deceit!
