Man Arrested After Breaking Into Ex-Wife’s Canyon Country Home

A man was arrested after he allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s house and threw an object, which struck her in the face.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 19400 block of Stillmore Street in Canyon Country regarding a burglary, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect… is the ex-husband of the adult female victim,” Miller said. “(The suspect) allegedly kicked in the victim’s apartment door and entered the residence while the victim was inside.”

After forcing entry into the apartment, the suspect allegedly threw an item at the victim, striking her in the face, according to Miller.

Uriel Torres Morales, 29, of Canyon Country, was arrested on felony charges of spousal assault, assault with a deadly weapon, and residential burglary, according to Miller.

He was transported and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains in custody on $50,000 bail as of Thursday afternoon.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
