A suspect was arrested after he allegedly threatened an individual with a knife Wednesday morning in Newhall.

Around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 25000 block of Peachland Avenue in Newhall regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported that a male Hispanic wearing all black threatened another person with a knife,” Borbon said.

The suspect was located near Lyons and Peachland Avenues and fled on foot, according to initial reports.
The suspect was eventually caught by deputies and taken into custody.

“The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station,” Borbon said.
