A majority of the weekend arrest were misdemeanor offenses.
Over the weekend deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) made 17 arrests with deputies making 13 of the detainments, according to weekend arrest logs.
Out of the 17 arrests, 12 of them were misdemeanors with four of them being DUIs.
The other eight individual misdemeanors were for possession of a controlled substance, refusing to leave the property upon the owner’s request, drunk driving, resisting an officer, possession of a deadly weapon, disobeying domestic relations and battery against a former spouse.
Some of the notable felony arrests made included murder, child endangerment, domestic abuse, harm to an elderly person and grand theft.
Nine out of the 17 arrests made this weekend are residents from the Santa Clarita Valley.
