A Newhall man was arrested Monday and charged with a felony for allegedly selling marijuana to minors, officials said.

While on patrol, deputies made contact with a vehicle on Monday around 12:30 a.m. on the 24800 block of Newhall Avenue, according to Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect that was in the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana for sales to minors,” Miller said. “There were two male juveniles in his vehicle.”

Guillermo Martinez, 19, of Newhall was arrested and charged with a felony for allegedly furnishing marijuana to a minor over 14 years old, officials said.

Martinez was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where bail was set at $40,000, according to arrest records.
