One person was shot outside of a restaurant in Newhall Thursday.

Around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting “a shooting” near a restaurant on the 23600 block of Newhall Avenue in Newhall, stated Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the SCV Station.

“There were shots fired outside of the restaurant reportedly shattering the glass at the location. Some of the callers immediately sought shelter in the bathrooms and others in the kitchen area, awaiting deputies’ arrival,” Miller said.

There were no injuries reported by anyone inside the restaurant, according to Miller.

A male adult gunshot victim was later located by deputies at a hospital.

“The victim was reportedly uncooperative with deputies,” Miller said.

No arrests have made as of Friday morning, and the incident is under active investigation by station detectives.
