One Person Hospitalized After Alleged Newhall Stabbing

One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after an alleged Newhall stabbing, officials said.

At 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called to the Avenida Dorena in Newhall near Lyons Avenue, according to Supervisor Michael Pittman with the department.

“We got a call from the sheriff, we just got cleared to go on scene,” said Pittman. “A male adult got stabbed in the arm.”

Initial reports indicate that the victim was stabbed twice with a kitchen knife, once in the arm, and once in the abdomen.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to officials.

Deputy Miguel Solorzano with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station responded to the call, where he discovered the victim on the ground.

“He said somebody stabbed him,” said Solorzano. “There was a steak knife in his shoulder, and that was it. I put a bag under his head to keep his head elevated and keep him calm.”

No suspects had been taken into custody in connection with the incident as of 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

As of 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station remained on scene to investigate, according to officials on scene.
