A high-speed pursuit suspect was taken into custody Tuesday evening after they crashed south of Santa Clarita.
Around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers observed a 2006 Infiniti sedan speeding on the southbound 14 Freeway near Via Princessa, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.
“Officers observed the Infiniti speeding and attempted to make an enforcement stop on the vehicle,” Greengard said. “The Infiniti failed to yield, and the pursuit was initiated.”
Officers pursued the Infiniti for several miles until the suspect crashed while transitioning from the southbound 5 Freeway to the eastbound 210 Freeway, according to Greengard.
“The suspect fled the crash and down the embankment where he was later found and apprehended,” Greengard said.
Nicholas Raymond Robledo was arrested for felony evading, Greengard said.
He was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
