A person wanted for speeding was taken into custody after leading California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers on a pursuit through Santa Clarita Monday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m. Monday, CHP officers attempted to stop a vehicle for speed on the 5 Freeway near Castaic prior to the pursuit, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.
“Upon stopping the driver of the sedan, they accelerated off the shoulder and the pursuit was initiated,” Greengard said.
The suspect vehicle traveled southbound all the way to the Pacoima area, according to Greengard.
“The suspect exited his vehicle and began walking away, during that time CHP was able to apprehend the suspect,” Greengard said.
No injuries to the suspect or CHP personnel were reported.
