Red Lantern Massage In Newhall Robbed By ‘Unsatisfied Customer’

Deputies are investigating a robbery that reportedly occurred Thursday afternoon at Red Lantern Massage in Newhall, officials said.

Around 2:30 p.m., deputies received reports of a robbery that had occurred an hour earlier on the 24000 block of Railroad Avenue in Newhall, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“There was some kind of dispute,” Miller said.

A man reportedly was a customer at the massage parlor and was “unsatisfied” with some aspect of the service, according to officials.

The suspect then reportedly pulled his shirt up in a way to show that he had a firearm and demanded the victim give him his money back, according to officials.

However, no weapon was seen, nor were any weapons seen in surveillance footage, according to officials.

The suspect received the money he paid originally, but it is unknown if he got away with any additional currency, Miller said.

As of 3:20 p.m. deputies were still on scene investigating, according to officials.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
