Detectives arrested, and subsequently released, a man who was allegedly in possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm after they detained a possibly stolen vehicle on Thursday.
On Thursday, Career Offenders Burglary Robbery and Assault (COBRA) detectives were patrolling near Soledad Canyon and Whites Canyon Roads in during a crime suppression operation in Canyon Country, when they pinpointed a vehicle believed to be reported stolen said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“During a search of the vehicle, detectives located baggies of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm,” Arriaga said.
After investigation it was resolved that the vehicle was not actually stolen but during the search COBRA detectives found narcotics and a loaded firearm, Arriaga added.
“The male was arrested for possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm,” said Arriaga.
Isidro Topete, 28, from Reseda, was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released on citation to appear in court at a later date.

There you go our Government doing the #1 job, protecting us…NOT! Our LEO’s do their job only to have our Justice system insult their efforts by putting the same folks right back on the street within hours. I am sure these individuals have learned their lessons and will not commit any other crimes while awaiting trail. No more drug dealing, no more carrying a stolen firearm (after all there are Gun laws preventing this right?). Geez! Forget the Recall FIRE HIS BUTT!
