Santa Clarita Valley law enforcement recorded 23 arrests over the weekend, down from 29 the previous week. It appears some residents may be trying to make Santa’s nice list at the last minute.
Law enforcement reported 15 misdemeanor arrests and eight felony arrests. Of those taken into custody, 11 were from outside the area and 12 were Santa Clarita residents.
DUI cases once again led the totals, with nine individuals arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Five arrests were tied to domestic violence, and two were associated with burglary.
Other charges included one count of obstructing or resisting an executive officer, one arrest for illegal possession of tear gas by a prohibited person, two shoplifting arrests, and two arrests for possession of a controlled substance.
Deputies also reported one arrest involving possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, and one arrest for vehicle theft with a prior felony.
