Crime in Santa Clarita saw a significant uptick over the weekend, with local authorities reporting 41 arrests, up from 29 the previous weekend.
According to arrest logs, 16 of those arrested were non-residents, while 25 were Santa Clarita residents. The incidents resulted in 31 misdemeanors and 10 felonies.
Among the most frequent charges were 14 arrests for driving under the influence (DUI). Authorities also responded to four domestic violence cases, along with various property and drug-related offenses.
Additional arrests included charges for petty theft, burglary, shoplifting, arson, battery, and evading arrest. One individual was cited for grand theft involving property valued over $400, while another was charged with arson of property. There were also arrests for possession of controlled substances, assault with a deadly weapon, and violations of court orders.
Less common but notable charges included unauthorized possession of shopping or laundry carts, unlicensed driving, and a case involving a minor under 21 driving with a blood-alcohol level over .01.
