Over the weekend, local law enforcement agencies saw a slight decrease in DUIs from the previous week, with only five arrests made for the crime in the Santa Clarita Valley.

This is the first time in nearly three weeks that DUI arrests in Santa Clarita did not steadily increase as a percentage of the total, but instead decreased.

To pair with the DUI arrests, there was an individual arrested for public intoxication two people arrested for being in possession of drugs, one of which was in prison. Then, there was a suspect who was taken into custody for attempting to bring drug paraphernalia into a jail or prison.

Other than drug and alcohol charges, local deputies and officers arrested someone for shoplifting and another for petty theft.

There were also more serious crimes like domestic violence and child cruelty that were likely to cause great bodily injury.
