Twisted Kazuyo – the brick-and-mortar location for popular Santa Clarita food truck Kazuyo Sushi by Chef Joe – was struck by thieves yet again Monday.
This is the second time in seven days that the restaurant has been targeted by smash-and-grab burglars. Both times the front door was entirely shattered, leaving Chef Joe to literally pick up the pieces, according to social media.
Santa Clarita has been plagued by smash-and-grab burglaries in recent weeks.
Nearly a dozen stores were broken into during the President’s Day crime spree, including Twisted Kazuyo Sushi. Most had their glass doors smashed in order to gain access to the businesses.
Once inside, camera footage showed groups of suspects rushing in to grab Point of Sale (PoS) and cash registers, yanking the entire pieces out of counters.
It is unknown as of Monday if the various break-ins are related. No arrests have been made public.
