A social media threat against an unknown school in the William S Hart High School Union School District over the weekend has been determined to be “not credible,” officials confirmed.
“The Hart District has been made aware of a social media post that made a
school threat, although not to a particular school site,” Hart District officials said in an email sent to parents and staff. “With the many tips regarding the post, law enforcement has been able to identify and engage the source of the threat. Safety is the top priority in the Hart District.”
Hart District staff worked alongside deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station as soon as they were made aware of the alleged threat.
“The matter was taken seriously and handled swiftly, and it has been determined that the threat is not credible,” District officials said in the email.
Classes throughout the Hart District are open and operating as normal Monday, officials said.
District officials are continuously thanking those who say something when they see something in an effort to keep students and staff safe.
