Deputies are investigating a Newhall shooting that occurred Thursday evening.

Around 10 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the 24200 block of Bamboo Drive in Newhall regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies contacted the victim and learned while he was sitting in his vehicle on Plane Tree Lane and Valle De Oro in Newhall, he heard a loud pop,” Arriaga said.

The victim then saw a hole in his windshield and left the location.

“The victim later found a bullet inside his car,” Arriaga said.

The victim was not injured, and the suspects remain unapprehended as of Friday afternoon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
