Threat Directed Towards Canyon Country Jr. High School Deemed Non-Credible

A threat directed toward a Canyon Country Jr. High School Thursday has been deemed non-credible by law enforcement.

Thursday night, Hart District officials received reports of a “troubling message” circulating on social media towards Sierra Vista Jr. High School in Canyon Country, Hart District officials said in an email to parents Friday morning.

“Based on that message, our local law enforcement conducted a thorough school threat assessment,” the email said. “After their investigation, law enforcement determined that there is no credible threat to Sierra Vista. We take the safety of our school community seriously, and we spent significant time assuring that our school is safe.”

Officials with the Hart District said they will continue to do everything in their power to assure that students are well taken care of at Sierra Vista.

“If you or your student ever become aware of a potential risk or threat, continue to report items of concern to our CAREText line at 661-213-9314 or [email protected], so that they can be investigated,” officials concluded.

  1. In unrelated news, the disinformation campaign of Donkey Pox lies and propaganda were also found to be not-credible.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
