Two DUI Suspects Surrender In Newhall Pass Following San Fernando Pursuit

Two DUI suspects, who bailed on foot into the bushes of the Los Angeles Aqueduct near the Newhall Pass, surrendered their location to law enforcement Saturday night following a San Fernando pursuit .

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, officers initiated a pursuit of a possible DUI suspect on the northbound 5 Freeway just past Stadium Way in Glendale, according to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officials.

The male driver and one male passenger led officers on a pursuit through the San Fernando Valley until the two men exited the vehicle and initiated foot bail across the 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway interchange just south of Santa Clarita, officials said.

LAPD officers staged at a designated fire road in between Foothill Boulevard and Balboa Boulevard, just north of the Newhall Pass, where the two suspects fled on foot into the bushes of the Los Angeles Aqueduct Saturday night, according to LAPD officials.

After a brief search for the suspects, the two men surrendered and were detained by law enforcement as of 11 p.m. Saturday, according to officials.

No injuries have been reported.

  1. Luckily the DUI suspects surrendered and didn’t compound their charges. Under 2022 California DUI laws the cost of having to fightDUIcharges and a conviction of the DUI offense is now higher than ever. Hopefully this news will remind more people not to drink and drive.

  2. DUI is foolish & can be dangerous , but not as bad as choosing to Shoot, Rob, Stab, Rape, etc., all being let off & downplayed by Gas-Con & Liberals!!
