A vandalism suspect was taken into custody Thursday evening after allegedly damaging property in Castaic.
Around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the 31700 block of Castaic Road in Castaic regarding a vandalism call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Upon arrival, deputies learned the suspect had vandalized a wall and was possibly en-route to a hotel located on the 31500 block of Castaic Road,” Arriaga said.
Deputies arrived at the hotel and detained a man who matched the suspect’s description, according to Arriaga.

After deputies detained the individual, their investigation confirmed that the detained individual was the suspect they were looking for, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“During a search of his property, drug paraphernalia was recovered,” Arriaga said.
Michael Estrada, 30, from Reseda, was arrested for felony vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, Arriaga added.
Estrada was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $20,000, according to arrest records.
