Wanted Parolee, Woman Apprehended In Saugus With Loaded Firearm, Drugs

A wanted parolee with a no bail warrant and a woman were arrested in Saugus allegedly with several loaded firearms, ammunition, and drugs.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Crime Impact Team deputies, and Parole Compliance Team were conducting a surveillance operation on Newberg and Shine Drives in Saugus when they searched a wanted parolee, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“During a search of the male, he was found to be in possession of ammunition and a shaved vehicle key,“ Arriaga said.

During this time due to the suspect being on parole, a compliance search was done on a vehicle he was seen in, Arriaga said.

Driven by a female companion, resulted in the recovery of several loaded firearms, ammunition, prescription pills not prescribed to either of them, and heroin, among other contraband,” Arriaga said.

“During investigation of the property it was confirmed one of the firearms was stolen,” Arriaga added.

John Carrol and Christine Rodin, 49, from Acton, were arrested for several charges including possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, all felonies, and more, Arriaga added.

Carrol and Rodin were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and remain in custody as of Thursday.
