SCV Sheriff’s Station To Host Community Academy For Residents

Officials at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are scheduled to host a community academy for residents next month.

The training is set to begin July 19, 2022, through Aug. 30, 2022, located at the SCV Sheriff’s Station community room, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

Training is scheduled to be held every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The seven-week course is set to cover topics including patrol procedures, jail operations, detective bureau investigations and more, Arriaga said.

The intentions of the academy are to help people learn about the inner-workings of community protection and how Santa Clarita Valley deputies serve residents.

The filing period begins June 13, 2022, and closes on June 25, 2022.

Residents interested in learning the procedures of being a deputy must email SCV Deputy Borbon of Community Relations, [email protected] for an application.
