Woman Arrested After Yelling, Brandishing Knife At Store Employee

An armed transient was arrested Sunday on multiple felonies after she allegedly brandished a knife and assaulted a Santa Clarita store employee.

On Sunday, deputies responded to the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus regarding a woman yelling at customers while brandishing a knife, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies observed the suspect walking on Bouquet Canyon Road,” Arriaga said. “As they attempted to detain her, a brief struggle ensued.”

With the help of assisting deputies, they were able to detain the suspect without further incident.

During the investigation, deputies learned the suspect had entered a business and began screaming obscenities inside the location, according to Arriaga.

“As an employee attempted to escort the suspect outside the location by pushing her shopping cart out, she began to physically assault him multiple times,” Arriaga said.

Once the woman was escorted outside, she allegedly retrieved a knife from her shopping cart and brandished it at the victim while yelling obscenities, according to officials.

“The suspect then attempted to push her shopping cart into the locked doors multiple times, until she finally walked away,” Arriaga said.

Laure Daltry, 70, a transient, was arrested for felony resisting an officer, misdemeanor battery and brandishing a weapon, Arriaga added.

Daultry was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $25,000, according to arrest logs.

  1. I sincerely hope and pray this woman finds the help she needs.

  2. I don’t know why the author could not ID the store this took place at. It’s not a secret.

  3. A human being is not a creatures.

  4. That’s the Starbucks at Newhall Ranch and Bouquet. I don’t know why he didn’t identify it either. Other questions: why was the door locked? Was the shopping cart stolen (they always are)? And why do you have to refer to someone as armed and then say they were brandishing a knife? It’s rather obvious they were armrd!

  5. Yes, you are right California Eagle. Some of the people on here post a lot of mean comments. The Devil may have a hold on some of them. We should pray for them.

  6. The problem that needs to be solved is why that the State and its voters make it ILLEGAL to HELP a person like this. The voters were misled. Nobody has even floated a bill to reverse it because it would never pass here. By creating this problem, they’ve created a system where people keep voting for increased spending to solve it which it hasn’t done in 30 years. We protected their civil rights by letting them wander the streets when they need treatment that they cannot get. Congrats on that.

  7. The liberals love this stuff , they see nothing wrong with acting out in public. No mandatory 72 hour holds.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
