College Of The Canyons Invites Community To ‘Movie Under The Stars’

College of the Canyons (COC) is scheduled to host a free outdoor movie night at the Canyon Country Campus (CCC), where a feature film is set to be presented.

A screening of the feature film, “Coco,” is scheduled to begin at the Amphitheater at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct 25.

Guests are also invited to attend an open house of the Center for Early Childhood Education (ECE), located in Room 200, starting at 5 p.m.

Following the ECE open house, families can enjoy a variety of children’s activities beginning at 6 p.m. Along with a live music performance by Mariachi Nuevo Canto, on the Upper Plaza in front of the Science Center (Level 3).

Free movie snacks and raffle tickets are presented by the COC Canyon Country campus, the Center for Early Childhood Education and the Associated Student Government.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets.

The Canyon Country campus is located at 17200 Sierra Highway.

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
