`Santa Clarita Elementary hosted a tearful reunion Friday, as a TK student was reunited with his uncle, who had been away for four years.

Transitional Kindergarten student Antonio Basaldu, 6,  hadn’t seen his uncle (and godfather) Petty Officer Cole James Reasonover regularly in about four years.

Reasonover has spent the last four years stationed for the Navy on the USS George HW Bush, a Nimitz-class supercarrier.

The reunion was emotional for the family, as classmates, teachers and parents looked on during the school’s awards ceremony, which recognized student achievement.

Making it even sweeter for the family, according to Saugus Union School District officials who notified local media of the surprise reunion, Reasonover was coming home permanently from his deployment.
