The school district is required to approve an oversight committee to oversee the use of the bond monies to ensure that projects proceed and are completed as described in the bond measure language.
The Citizen’s Oversight Committee (COC) has members that will begin service with both one- and two-year terms so all of the members’ terms do not expire at the same time.
The committee is required to have at least seven members who reside within the Saugus Union School District’s boundaries with at least one member who is a business representative, a member of a taxpayers’ organization, a member of a senior citizens’ organization, a parent of a student in the district and a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)/Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or school site council member.

Let’s hope this is the last of the handouts the Saugus Union school district is looking for. Some of us dont have children and would like to keep our homes after we retire and not have to leave because of “forced” bond issues on our property taxes
