Arroyo Seco Junior High Named 2025 California Blue Ribbon School

Arroyo Seco Junior High School in the William S. Hart Union High School District has been recognized as one of only 31 schools statewide to earn the 2025 California Blue Ribbon School distinction.

The award celebrates public and private elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement or make significant progress in closing opportunity gaps among student subgroups.

“It’s my pleasure to congratulate these school communities on their hard work to earn recognition as 2025 California Blue Ribbon Schools,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. “This award affirms the dedication and achievement of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.”

Arroyo Seco’s recognition highlights its commitment to academic excellence and student success, a reflection of the hard work and collaboration of its teachers, staff, students, and families.

The California Department of Education will formally honor all 2025 California Blue Ribbon Schools, including Arroyo Seco Junior High, at the California School Recognition Program celebration in spring 2026.

The California Blue Ribbon School designation was created to honor schools nominated for the discontinued U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon Schools program.
