Just ahead of Lancaster’s annual California Poppy Festival, the Santa Clarita Valley is already showing its colors.

In a series of aerial photos by Marshall La Plante, the iconic California flowers can be seen forming a small field in the hills just off of Railroad Ave. in Saugus.
