The annual “Family Thrill Night” Halloween block party is set to return to Elevate Church in Santa Clarita this week, and the community is invited to attend.

On Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., residents are set to be welcomed to Main Street in Newhall for free candy, carnival games, a live 4-D production, an animal show, food trucks and more. 

“It’s a night that gives families an alternative rather than knocking on doors for their kids receiving candy,” said Lead Pastor Mauricio Ruiz. “We just do this huge free block party and we give away tons and tons of candy.”

In addition to loading up on free Halloween candy, children and their families can also choose from five different showtimes of a 4-D production called “The Monstrous Heroes.” 

“It’s going to be very creative,” Ruiz said, noting that the production “brings the people into the storyline” to experience not only the visual aspect of the show, but other senses like smell and touch as well. “The cast is amazing, the script is hilarious.”

Other activities planned for Family Thrill Night include live music performances, a children’s costume contest with prizes, carnival-themed activities, a “giant” inflatable slide and more.

“Family Thrill Night is going to be ridiculously amazing,” Ruiz said. “I know that kids and families are going to have a blast.”
