Neil Young To Headline Benefit Concert At Lake Hughes

Rock musician Neil Young is set to headline “Harvest Moon – A Gathering,” a benefit concert to be held at Lake Hughes on Sept.14, officials said.

The 73-year-old rocker is expected to take the stage at the sold-out concert following performances from Norah Jones and Father John Misty.

Proceeds from the benefit concert are expected to go to two charities: The Painted Turtle and The Bridge School.

The Painted Turtle is a charity that offers a free, traditional camp experience to children with chronic and life-threatening diseases located in Lake Hughes.

Since opening in 2004, The Painted Turtle has provided more than 60,000 camp experiences to children with serious medical conditions.

The Bridge School works with individuals with severe speech and physical impairment to overcome those impairments through the use of augmentative and alternative means of communication and assistive technology applications.

In addition to the musical offerings, tickets also include an all-star celebrity picnic cooked and served by California’s top chefs, as well as beer and wine tastings from select California breweries and wineries.
