Carousel Ranch plans to host its ninth annual “How the West Was Won” — a fundraising shooting event — at Moore N’ Moore Sporting Clays, on Friday May 19th.
“Eric Stroh and Wayne Crawford created this event nine years ago because it’s unique and they thought people would enjoy it,“ said Carousel Ranch executive director Denise Redmond. “And nine years later, it’s an event people look forward to and shooting at.”
This year, the event hopes to feature over 90 shooters representing 18 teams. Competitors are scheduled to enjoy a light breakfast at 9 a.m. and head to their shooting stations by 10 a.m., according to a Carousel Ranch press release.
The event features competitors with serious experience all the way to individuals who have never held a gun. One of the events is expected to feature shooting by “rocking horseback,” officials said.
Teams plan to compete for trophies, titles and prizes awarded during lunch, said event organizers.
“The (competitors) have a good time, but bottom line, it’s about how this event directly translates into helping the kids that we serve,” said Redmond.
Moore N’ Moore Sporting Clays is located at 12651 Little Tujunga Canyon Road, Sylmar.
