Nearly 100 local golfers gathered to support the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation and SCV Search and Rescue, as well as honor the late Deputy Hagop “Jake” Kuredjian, at TPC Valencia Monday morning. The participants competed in a four person scramble format golf tournament and took part in raffles for over 30 prizes that include field level Dodger tickets and a Tommy John basket.
“Every year, it gets easier to run,” said AMS Fulfillment CEO Ken Wiseman, who led the event through his involvement with the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation. “The momentum keeps building, and people are excited to come out and support the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation and SCV Search and Rescue.”
The event has already raised over $30,000, with even more expected after the conclusion of the raffles, officials said.
All funds raised will go on to benefit the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation, as well as SCV Search and Rescue. The money will help purchase new equipment and support volunteer programs. Additionally, four $500 scholarships will be provided to the William S. Hart Union High School District in honor of the late Deputy Hagop “Jake” Kuredjian.
This year’s tournament is already the “most successful yet,” Wiseman said, with 15 major event sponsors, as well as several other partial sponsors and volunteers like the Laker Girls, who have been a part of this event for nearly a decade.
The event will be concluding tonight with a special tribute to Deputy Kuredjian and an awards ceremony where the top three finishers in both the mens and the mixed group will be announced with the winners being awarded with a special photo of Deputy Kuredjian.
