Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is set to open its gates for an end-of-the-season pool party, when canines of all sizes can splash, swim and beat the heat with their human families.
Play areas include Castaway Cove for small dogs and the Forgotten Sea wave pool, sans waves, for all dogs. Admission is $25 and includes parking, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the L.A. County Animal Care Foundation, according to Six Flags officials.
“This year, for the first time ever, we are hosting a special event for dogs, when pet parents can enjoy fun in the sun at the waterpark with their canine best friends,” said Park President Neal Thurman. “We are honored to be partnering with the Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation to support the important work they do in helping so many animals thrive and find their forever homes.”
The Six Flags Hurricane Harbor “Paw Pool-ooza” event includes:
- Castaway Cove for small dogs only. This large interactive water play area includes waterfalls, water cannons and tide pools of Octopus Island where the water depth reaches 12 inches;
- Forgotten Sea wave pool, the region’s largest body of water with a beach entry; and
- Specialty food and drinks featuring puppuccinos during “Yappy Hour.”
The event is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 12 – 4 p.m. at Hurricane Harbor, and park guests and their furry friends are encouraged to get ready for a “paw-some” good time, officials said.
To participate in Paw Pool-ooza, dogs must be spayed or neutered and have proof of current vaccinations (rabies, DHLP and Bordetella). Humans must present signed release waivers (available online). Space is limited for this event.

What a great way for the pooches to have some fun before the pool(s) are drained for the season – very little additional cost for Magic Mountain, while raising money for the foundation.
Hopefully, the event performs well enough that this becomes a yearly event!
Thank you Six Flags management!
