“We are so grateful to have the support from the Santa Clarita Valley to allow us to have this event,” said Rachelle Dardeau, who’s the Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. “This is a perfect place for people to come who are caring for seniors so they can get more information and expert ad
vice.”
The event was held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Van Hook University Center at the College of the Canyons Valencia Campus.
“Caregiver Resource Day” is designed for those who are caring for a loved one since not all caregivers are trained for the role.
Today caregivers were provided information and resources from professionals and experts.
They were able to ask about legal issues, medical issues and even practical issues.
Speakers were in attendance and people were able to speak with professionals who provide services related to aging and caregiving.
Caregivers hold a wide spectrum of care including the everyday grocery shopping and banking.
The Senior Center has held this event for over 20 years.
