What: AV Motoplex M2XRaceway presents the Justin Covarrubias Ride Day. Justin Covarrubias was paralyzed from the waist down in a motor cross accident almost one year ago. The family and community are coming together to raise funds for a Robotic Exoskeleton which will allow Justin to walk upright with the aid of this device. The cost is $30.00 per rider and there will be food, raffles, and music.

Santa Clarita Start-Up Weekend

What: Start-Up Weekend is a grassroots event that brings together 30 software developers, 30 designers and 30 business people who will form teams and launch startups in 54 hours. The event begins Friday night with participants pitching their ideas, and ends Sunday night with a Shark Tank style judging competition. Prizes that add value to the winning startups will be awarded to the top three teams. The event will be held at the College of the Canyons on November 13th to 15th, and tickets can be purchased at santa-clarita.up.co

Dia De Los Muertos Festival

The Santa Clarita Marathon

What: Passages is an interactive exhibit that chronicles the history of the Bible. More than 400 artifacts are used to tell the stories. Artifacts include the Dead Sea Scrolls, a Bible that traveled to the moon on Apollo 14, and a letter handwritten by Martin Luther on the night before he was charged with heresy. Kids can take part in the parting of the Red Sea with Moses, dress as an animal on Noah’s Ark, and feed the lions so they don’t eat Daniel.

Festival of The Trees

Old Town Tree Lighting Ceremony

What: The merchants of Old Town host a Sip and Shop block party in the spirit of the season. Enjoy wine tastings, appetizers, promotions and store specials. All are invited. Following is the Light Up Main Street where the City Council will officially turn on the lights and transform Main Street into a winter wonderland on November 21. The street will be adorned with thousands of twinkling lights, lighted displays, and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library. In addition to the stunning light display, the evening will include festive holiday performances and music, food trucks and a chance to take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Clause. The lights turn on at 7:00 p.m.!
