I had peripheral neuropathy for several years. It would fade out when it got cold in the winter, but then come roaring back when the weather warmed up. Every year the respite got shorter and shorter and the severity was worse than ever before. The pain–like being stabbed by thousands of “fire needles, along with the itching whereupon i scratched so much that i bled through my shirts, along with the loss of sleep had me literally to the point that i was seriously considering suicide for relief.
Finally, after multiple consultations with quacks and many prescriptions, i found a doctor who prescribed gabapentin (neurontin) which completely eliminated the symptoms. The bad thing was that you build up a tolerance really, really fast. What starts as 3 capsules per day increases to to 12 to 15 per day, sometimes 18 capsules a day. but at least it eliminated 80-90% of the symptoms.
But, then a miracle occurred. Just smoking a single small bong load or 2 per week of weed (cannabis) completely cured it. It’s been over 10 years without any symptoms at all of the NP and also over a decade since I’ve had to take a capsule, let alone a dozen and a half per day!
